The Kingdom of Tonga lies
400 miles East of Fiji and
400 miles South of Samoa.
The climate is very pleasant
with slightly cooler average
temperatures and lower humidity
than that of other South Pacific
regions.
Ika Lahi Lodge is situated
in Hunga Lagoon within the
Vava'u group of islands -
the most northern island group.
Vava'u is the 'jewel' of the
South Pacific and is renowned
for it's crystal clear waters,
safe anchorages, superb sailing,
whale watching, impressive
diving and world class game
fishing.
All international carriers
(Air New Zealand, Air Pacific,
Pacific Blue Airlines. ) land
in Nuku'alofa, the capital
of Tonga and to get to Vava'u,
it is a short 50 minute scenic
flight aboard the 50 seater
Convair. You fly north over
the stunning Ha'apai islands
group and low enough that
you might get to see some
of our majestic humpback whales.
All our guests are personally
met at the Vava'u airport
on arrival and a short 35
minute trip by boat and you
are within the protected waters
of Hunga Lagoon and Ika Lahi
Lodge.
For your ease and
safety of travel we encourage
all guests to have travel
insurance. |
